• Representing two companies and a director in relation to charges under the Transfrontier Shipment of Waste Regulations.
• Advising a number of clients in prosecutions by the Environment Agency for various breaches of Packaging Waste Regulations.
• Advising clients on notices served by EA to clean up waste on land.
• Advising clients re breaches of waste management licences ranging from not having the correct licence, not complying with conditions, exceeding exemptions etc including advice to a well known landfill site.
• Advising companies about the requirements for and applications for a number of different types of licence such as waste management licences, PPC permits (now Environmental Permit) and the registration of exemptions.
• Defending companies in prosecutions relating to incorrect disposal of hazardous waste and failing to comply with the "duty of care"requirements ie to ensure that people taking waste away take it to the right place.
